CITY HONDA PONY EXPRESS 2010!

SATURDAY 4 DECEMBER:
X-Country FUN-RIDE. What a way to finish off the season!

To celebrate the last ride of the 2010 season. CITY HONDA in conjunction with Taikorea MX Park held a Pony-Express fun event.

The easier shorter X-Country track design was aimed at the slightly less serious rider. However though only a few riders turned up in the very hot dry conditions, the rider skill was very high with Paul Whibley (winner of the last three OMA championships in the USA) heading out the field.

Participants of the event could either ride solo or in a team. A very tasty sausage sizzle plus spot prizes supplied by City Honda eased the day off nicely.

If you're keen on getting a pony yourself (or better still, a 'steed'), talk to Danny...

CITY HONDA PONY EXPRESS

No official 1st, 2nd & 3rd. No prize money (apart from a stack of cool spot prizes supplied by City Honda), no big rider fields... just a nice little ride to finish out the season... or so it would seem! BUT... When the flag dropped all throttles found an extra quarter turn and the action was on BIG TIME. Paul Whibley (USA X-Country champ) started his bike so quickly he was already moving before the sound reached the other side of the paddock, and Jordan Wilson keen to show why he's the NZ junior X-Country champ was close on his heels riding hotter than the weather.
